Double Exposure
The images I chose for my double exposure was a picture of myself and an image of a stain glass window. These to images relate compositionally because the way my face is positioned in the image falls perfectly with the lines on the stained glass window. The image of myself I edited it by changing the colors. The colors were very subtle, the background was grey and the light casting of my face had a very yellow tone. I wanted to change the lighting so it would be white light rather than the harsh yellow. As I was fixing the colors I happened to make the background blue, I actually liked the background this color, so I decided to keep it. The stain glass image I did not change too much, I simply changed the opacity and layered it over my face, lining it with my facial structure, and then erased so the image was just on my face. I decided to use the image on the stain glass to represent me. I have a very unique personality and style, and I love that about myself, but I want people to see my personality as well. The stained glass represents my unique creative appearance, which is the most noticeable thing about me, at first glance. Having the opacity lowered on the stained glass represent my personality, and that there is more to me then just my outer appearance. Overall, I think this image conveys a sense of self discovery, and optimism.
