Portrait Narrative
The person I chose for the portrait narrative assignment was my younger sister Rebekah. The idea I communicated through these images was that Rebekah has a young soul. No matter what her age may be she still loves to play the game of Monopoly. I decided to photograph her in our bedroom because the lighting was great, for the assignment I wanted Rebekah to pretend to play the game to make it seem as if the pictures tell a story. One detail about the game I wanted to keep in focus throughout the series was the dog piece. This dog piece makes the images more personal to Rebekah because that is her favorite piece. Ever since she started playing Monopoly she has always chosen the dog. I think each image captures a timeless feel, I have know Rebekah her entire life and one thing that is so unique about her is her child like spirit. This games represents that even though she has grown older she still holds on to the little girl she used to be, never forgetting the things that bring her joy in life.
